Publication Ethics

Jurnal Ilmu Terapan: International Multidisciplinary Journal (JITIMJ) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to adhere to these ethical standards.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Submit original, unpublished manuscripts that are not under consideration by another journal.
  • Ensure that all data and research findings are accurate, authentic, and obtained through ethical research practices.
  • Properly acknowledge the work of others through appropriate citations and references.
  • Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation.
  • Include as authors only those who have made significant scholarly contributions to the work.
  • Promptly notify the Editorial Office if a significant error or inaccuracy is identified after submission or publication.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Evaluate manuscripts fairly based on their academic merit, originality, significance, and relevance to the journal's scope.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and the identities of authors and reviewers.
  • Ensure an objective, transparent, and unbiased peer-review process.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest in editorial decision-making.
  • Take appropriate action in response to allegations of ethical misconduct or publication malpractice.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Review manuscripts objectively, constructively, and within the agreed review period.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all manuscript information.
  • Identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors.
  • Inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other ethical concerns.
  • Decline to review manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.

Research Integrity and Publication Malpractice

The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate submission, redundant publication, citation manipulation, and any other form of academic misconduct. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts found to violate publication ethics may be rejected, corrected, or retracted in accordance with the journal's editorial policies and internationally recognized ethical guidelines.

By submitting a manuscript to JITIMJ, authors confirm that they have complied with these ethical standards and agree to cooperate fully throughout the editorial and publication process to uphold the integrity of scholarly publishing.
